Sometimes its just the simple things in life that can make you so excited and happy. I stumbled upon Ho Won Bake Shop on Hester and Elizabeth this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the dried shrimp rice crepe. It was NOT the best dried shrimp rice crepe I ever had, but it reminded me of my childhood. My parent's used to own a noodle shop and this was just one of the many things we sold at our shop. I used to make my own rice crepes and loved adding more dried shrimp to my "special ha cheung" before it went into the cooker ... even if it was piping hot, I would roll the crepe and eat it there... oh, soooo good! So you can only imagine how excited I was when I found Ho Won Bake Shop!
If you've seen the movie Ratatouille, you might recall the moment when the food critic took his first bite of the ratatouille! Images of his childhood flashed before him and a large smile appeared on his face -- and to put it simply, that's what happened to me! :D Sometimes you only need the simple things to make you happy!
Happy Eating!
